How to move forward when motivation is low?

Different types of problems appear at different times of our life. Then we feel that we have failed in all aspects in this life. Time does not always pass, sometimes such bad times come, when it seems that nothing is possible. I am a total failure, in every way. When broken, we have a different feeling in life.

Motivation is not always the same in our life. Sometimes good times, sometimes bad times. I want to do a lot of things one day, I think I will do a lot of work today, I will do something for myself, I will move forward. Again there are days when one does not want to do anything. The work that was fun to do before, also seems boring. Sometimes it seems that nothing is going right, why am I trying so hard, will it be of any use or not – these thoughts also come to mind. In fact, such times come in everyone’s life. So there is no need to feel like a failure if the motivation decreases.

There can be many reasons for decreased motivation. Getting tired of doing many things at once, not getting the same results despite repeated attempts, comparing yourself with others or putting too much pressure on yourself – these reasons can also reduce motivation. Sometimes you feel depressed for no particular reason and don’t want to do anything. Then if you force yourself to do all the work, it may feel more boring on the contrary.

At such times, it is necessary to stop a little first. There is no such thing as running all the time. If both body and mind are tired, take some rest. One day less work will not stop your life. Instead, giving your body and mind some time can make it easier to focus on work later. Resting and letting go are not the same thing.

If motivation decreases, you can start with a small task instead of starting with a big task. Suppose you are supposed to do a job for a long time, but you can’t start. Then decide to work for just 10 or 15 minutes without thinking about completing the whole task at once. Sometimes the hardest part is getting started. Once you get started, you get a little more done without even realizing it.Setting small goals also helps a lot at this time. We often set goals for ourselves that are difficult to achieve together. Then if you can’t do that, you get angry with yourself. So even if you have a big goal, break it down into smaller parts. Just doing one part today, another tomorrow—it’s less stressful going forward that way.

Another thing is to stop comparing yourself to other people. On social media, we see more of the good side of others’ lives. Someone has started something new, someone is successful, someone is traveling, someone is very good with their life – seeing these things can make one’s life seem very backward. But we don’t know what is really going on in that person’s life. So it is not right to compare your whole life with others. It is more important to move at your own pace.

Even if there is no motivation, some work can be done regularly. Like waking up, cleaning your house, taking a shower, walking for a while, eating on time or finishing an important task of the day. These may seem small but help create a routine. If you always wait for motivation to come, you don’t start many things. Sometimes motivation returns a little after starting to work.

How you talk to yourself is also important. When motivation is low, we talk to ourselves the most. It seems, I can’t do anything, it won’t happen by me, everyone is better than me. Repeatedly saying such things reduces self-confidence. Instead, you can say to yourself, It might be hard right now, but I can try. Everything doesn’t have to be fixed in one day. I will do as much as I can today.

Previous small successes can also be remembered. Maybe you once did something that seemed too difficult at the time, but later managed to do it. Think back to that time. It can restore a little faith in yourself. You have been through a lot of tough times in life before, this too will pass.

You can change your environment a little to increase motivation. Sitting in the same place and looking at the mobile all day or being under work pressure can make the mind feel worse. So walking outside for a while, sitting by the window,It may be nice to clean the house a bit or talk to someone close. There is no need to do anything too big, a small change can often lighten the mind.

It is also necessary to pay attention to the use of mobile and social media. Sometimes we just pick up the phone for a few minutes, but then the time is gone. Seeing the lives of others can also reduce interest in one’s work. So you can try keeping the phone away for a while while working. It may increase attention a bit.

Another thing is to remember why your goal is important. Why are you doing what you are doing? Where can it take you in the future? Being clear about this reason can make it easier to keep going even when times are tough. Knowing why you want to do something for yourself is more important than doing something just because others are doing it.

However, it is not right to try to keep yourself productive all the time when the motivation decreases. There will come days in life when there will be less work. Someday the day may end with only the necessary tasks. No need to blame yourself for that. It is not possible for humans to be the same every day.

Many times we think we will start working when motivation comes back. But in reality it is the opposite in many cases. First you have to start working small, then motivation can come to work. So instead of waiting for motivation, you can start with a very small task.

If you don’t feel good about anything for a long time, you are always very upset, there is a big change in your sleeping or eating habits or it becomes very difficult to do daily tasks, then it is not right to avoid the subject just because the motivation has decreased. It is best to talk to a trusted person or seek help from a mental health professional if needed.

Lack of motivation doesn’t mean you’re falling behind. As humans we all have good times and bad times. Sometimes you go faster, sometimes you go a little slower. Keep doing small tasks without putting undue pressure on yourself. If you can’t do much today, at least do one small thing. That small task may be the start of a big one the next day.It doesn’t always take a lot of motivation to push yourself. Sometimes all it takes is a little patience, self-belief and a little effort every day. No problem moving slowly. The key is not to stop.
