Taking care of sensitive skin can seem a little difficult. Because if something goes wrong with this type of skin, it can lead to redness, burning, itching or small rashes. Sometimes it happens that a product works well on other people’s skin but after using it on your own skin the problem starts. So in case of sensitive skin it is better to take care with less but necessary things rather than using more. Dermatologists also recommend focusing on essentials such as gentle cleansers, moisturizers, and sunscreens instead of using too many products.

First you need to understand your skin. Sensitive skin refers to skin that is easily irritated by products, weather, dust, hot water or rubbing. Someone’s face gets more irritated, someone gets red again, someone’s skin becomes very dry. So the same routine may not work for everyone. It is very important to notice what is causing problems in your skin.

Be very careful while cleaning your face after waking up in the morning. Do not use very strong soaps or face washes that make your face feel tight after use. A gentle and fragrance-free cleanser can be used. No need to scrub too hard while cleaning the face. You can gently clean your face with finger tips and wash it with warm or normal water. Scrubbing with a scrubber or hard cloth while cleaning the face can further irritate sensitive skin.

Another important thing after washing the face is moisturizer. Do not skip moisturizer on sensitive skin. Many people think that if the face is sensitive, not much can be applied, so they do not use moisturizer. In fact, the skin needs to be hydrated. Especially after washing the face before the skin dries, using a moisturizer helps to retain the moisture of the skin. For very sensitive or dry skin, a fragrance-free cream type moisturizer can be comfortable for many.

When buying a moisturizer, don’t just go by the name or the advertisement. It is good to have a look at the ingredient list of the packet. Fragrance-You can see if free is written. One thing to remember here, fragrance-free and unscented are not the same thing. Even if it says unscented, it may contain fragrance to cover the smell. Therefore, if you have sensitive skin, it is better to choose fragrance-free products.

Then comes the sunscreen. Even if you have sensitive skin, you need to use sunscreen when going out. A broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher sunscreen is generally recommended. However, if the skin is repeatedly irritated after applying sunscreen, then another type of sunscreen can be tried. Fragrance-free mineral sunscreens, which contain zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, can often be less irritating, especially for sensitive or rosacea-prone skin.

If you are outside in the afternoon, sweat may accumulate on your face. Then there is no need to repeatedly wash the face with face wash. You can wash your face with clean water or use a gentle cleanser if necessary. Washing your face too often can damage the skin’s natural protective barrier and make it more dry or irritated. For many people, cleansing the face once a day at night may be sufficient, while for others, twice a day may be sufficient as needed.

It is better to clean the face again before sleeping at night. All day dust, sweat and sunscreen can cause skin discomfort. However, there is no need to use many serums, toners, exfoliators, scrubs together at night. If you have sensitive skin, the simpler the skincare, the better. Gentle cleanser first, then moisturizer as needed—this is often enough.

Be careful with scrubs in particular. It is not right to scrub vigorously if you feel that dead skin has accumulated on your face. Excessive exfoliation on sensitive skin may increase redness, burning or dryness. Similarly, it is not right to use new acid or active ingredient together. If the skin starts to get irritated after using a product, it is better to rest the skin for some time without continuing. It is good practice to test a new skincare product before using it. You can try using a small amount on a small area first without applying directly to the entire face. This is especially important for those who already have sensitive skin or allergy problems. If redness, itching, irritation or rash occurs after using a new product, it should be discontinued.

Not only skincare products, but some daily habits also affect sensitive skin. Washing your face with very hot water or taking long hot showers can further dry out the skin. So it is better to use lukewarm water instead of very hot water. After bathing, instead of rubbing your face or body vigorously with a towel, you can gently wipe off the water. After that it is better to apply moisturizer.

Care should also be taken with clothes and detergents. If the skin of many people is sensitive, the detergent or fragrance of clothes can cause irritation. It is better to wear comfortable clothes instead of very tight clothes and if there is a problem, you can try using fragrance-free and dye-free detergent. If sweat is profuse, it is better to clean the body as soon as possible.

Another thing is that the idea that all natural things are safe for sensitive skin is not correct. Many people think that there will be no problem if it is natural or homemade. But some essential oils or natural ingredients can also cause skin irritation or allergy. Therefore, nothing should be used in the mouth just by looking at the natural text.

The most important thing in caring for sensitive skin is not to over-irritate your skin. It is better to understand which one is good for the skin and which one is causing problems without using many products at once. The more complicated the skincare routine, the more chances of irritation from the product. So you can make a simple routine for yourself and follow it regularly.

If the skin often turns red, itches a lot, rashes repeatedly, burns a lot, the skin breaks or the problem persists for a long time after using a product, then it is better to consult a dermatologist instead of just continuing skincare on your own. Because behind sensitive skin eczema, rosacea,Contact dermatitis or other skin conditions may also occur.

Finally, sensitive skin does not need expensive skincare products. Rather, gentle cleanser, good moisturizer, sunscreen as needed and some caution—these few things are more important to follow regularly. Skincare becomes much easier if you understand what is causing the problem in your skin. There is nothing to fear because the skin is sensitive.Just be patient and adapt to the skin.
